"Youth With A Mission," also known as YWAM, is a global movement of Christians from various cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus around the world. We come together with a common purpose to know God and make Him known.
When we began in 1960, our primary focus was to help young people engage in missions. Today, we still focus on youth and also include individuals of all ages. Currently, our staff is composed of tens of thousands of people (called "YWAMers") from nearly every country.
What We Do
YWAM operates as a family of ministries rather than a centralized organization. We reach over 180 countries through three main areas: Evangelism, Training, and Mercy Ministries. Our ministries span across all spheres of society, including healthcare on ships, performing arts teams, Bible training programs, business, sports ministries, anti-trafficking work, and many more.

WHY THE CANARY ISLANDS?
As YWAM Canarias, we have accepted God's invitation to coexist and the opportunity to share the gospel with the more than 140 nationalities represented in the islands. In doing so, we respond to God's call to write new pages in the history of the islands and to reach every tribe, race, language, and nation.
Discipleship
God has called YWAM to train and equip youth to live their faith and be disciples of Jesus in all spheres of society. To be prepared to take the gospel to the ends of the Earth and answer the world's biggest needs. In the Canary Islands we do this through the Discipleship Training School (DTS), local training programs, and coming soon more schools in partnership with the University of the Nations (UofN) like the Discipleship Bible School (DBS).

How can I get involved?
As a pioneer base we are always in the process of launching new efforts and finding new ways to minister here in the Canary Islands. We have some programs in their beginnings, as well as dreams for the future. There are so many ways to serve and get involved in the Island, and we view ourselves as a bridge or platform for those looking for opportunity!
