Discipleship Training School
"Why do a DTS?"
Have you asked this question? Us too. So we made this video to help clear up some of your doubts.
As Moi said in the video, embarking on a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with YWAM is a transformative journey where faith comes alive. It's an opportunity to deepen your relationship with God, discover your calling, and be equipped to impact the world for Jesus, all within a supportive international community that fosters spiritual growth and participation in the Gran Commission. The five month school is broken up into two parts: Lecture Phase and Outreach Phase.
Lecture Phase

The DTS starts with 12 weeks of intensive classes and discipleship at our center in Gran Canaria. During this time, you and your fellow students will explore a range of topics taught by guest speakers from various parts of the world. Each week, with its specific focus, will take you deeper into your relationship with God, develop your character, and prepare you for the adventure of making disciples in all nations.
Some topics could be:
- Nature and character of God
- Father heart of God
- Hearing the Voice of God
- Biblical Worldview in Missions
- Anthropology and Culture
- Evangelism
Outreach Phase
After the 12-week theoretical phase, the DTS team will embark on an 8-week campaign, where they can put into practice what they have learned by sharing God's love and hope in Christ through cross-cultural evangelism and mercy ministries. We aim to care for people's spiritual and physical needs in the way Jesus did.
Some opportunities include teaching, working with children, orphans, and widows, serving in refugee camps, efforts against human trafficking, and more.

WHAT COMES AFTER?
Your last week of DTS will be about informing and preparing you for everything that God has for you. Once you have completed the DTS, you have an open door to train and participate in ministry within YWAM/JCUM, both in the Canary Islands and internationally. There are endless opportunities, and we would love to help you find them. Check out our upcoming school!
