Where We Are
The Canary Islands are made up of 8 islands. The archipelago is one of the 17 autonomous communities of Spain. It has its own unique and singular history within the national territory, which makes this place a point of connection between the old and the new world. A bridge between Europe and other continents. This has been its role throughout history, and we believe that this is one of the distinctive marks of God for this place and its people.
The Canarians are known for being affectionate, kind, friendly, and hospitable. These traits help make this community feel like a big family.
Today, there are more than 140 nationalities represented in the archipelago.
This cultural diversity provides us with a great opportunity as a mission to be a living expression of the Gospel for people of every tribe, race, language, and nation.
Surrounded by seas, mountains, valleys, and lush nature, the Islands are one of the most important tourist destinations in Europe.
Our Vision
Back in the day, God brought the first missionaries who have impacted the Islands with the Gospel, but this is a story with many chapters, and we want to write some new pages with God. We believe that Jesus invites us to follow Him in His purposes for the Canary Islands, recognizing the identity and purpose of its existence.
We want to be a platform for connecting generations, cultures, peoples, groups, and different social realities.
The Canary Islands have had a special place in history, and we are confident that they have an important role in the future. We believe that God wants to continue using the islands and its people to bring transformation to the world.
Through this YWAM community, we aim to empower young people from the Canary Islands and from various parts of the world to know God and to make Him known in all the world.
Our Team
We are a pioneering team in that YWAM Canarias was founded in 2022. God has called us from different countries and cultures to work for His Kingdom here in the Canary Islands. We want to impact all the islands in the name of Jesus, and we are currently located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Our team has a place for you, for anyone who wants to live for God and reach the nations for Christ.
